Dictation is often considered to be old-fashioned and most teachers do not use dictating as a learning method in class. However, it is excellent for many reasons and there are a variety of websites available for you to practise without a teacher. I guarantee your understanding will improve if you do a few dictations every week. Here are some good dictation sites:
