A piece of cake…you butts!!!

Obviously, this is a piece of cake, but…cake11

this is NOT what I mean! If we say something “is a piece of cake”, we mean it is easy to do:

Main Entry: piece of cake
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: an easy thing
Synonyms:  breeze, child’s play, cinch, duck soup, kid stuff, pie, VISUAL THESAURUS

It’s a piece of cake to say thank you with a cake! Watch this video.

“YOU BUTTS” (at the end of the video) means, “You idiots!” It is short for “butt-heads”. Butt-Head is a fictional character from the MTV animated series Beavis and Butt-Head. He is oblivious to subtleties and marginally more “intelligent” than Beavis, although significantly less intelligent than the other characters in the show. butthead

  1. Thank you for this piece of information. It was really interesting. I didn’t know that “duck soup” means “an easy thing” and I’m happy I’ve learnt it because “Duck Soup” by the Marx brothers is one of my favourite movies but I never quite understood the title!!

  2. Glad it was useful. Thanks for the comment. I don’t think that idiom in particuar is very common anymore, but at leat now you know why the film had that name! I love that movie – it’s one of their best!
